ToFarm Film Festival to showcase 6 films starting July 12

In the midst of all the brouhaha on different film festivals, its nice to know that Filipinos are given so much options and opportunities to enjoy local cinema. This second week of July, we'll have another showcase of independent film making with ToFarm Film Festival 2017

After its maiden venture last year, #ToFarmFilmFestival2017 is set to open on July 11th at Novotel Hotel, Ballroom 2 and 3. It will re-introduce the six film-finalists to this year’s competition, adhering to the latest theme—‘Planting Seeds of Change’.

The six films are: Victor Acedillo Jr.’s ‘Kamunggai’ (Malunggay), Topel Lee’s ‘Baklad’, Byron Bryant’s ‘Sinandomeng’, Joseph Abello’s ‘What Home Feels Like’, Jason Paul Laxamana’s ‘Instalado’, and Tara Illenberger’s ‘High Tide’.

To kick off the festival, it will screen the 1975 Gerry de Leon’s film titled—‘Banaue: Stairway to the Sky’. The said film tells about an Ifugao tribe's quest for the ‘promised land. The movie headlines the one and only Superstar—Nora Aunor, Christopher de Leon, Johnny Delgado and Ronaldo Valdez.

After the screening of the opening film, cocktails will be served. The directors and the stars of the six film-finalists will grace the occasion.
